Finally the day has come...

Finally yesterday I have taken the decision to go ahead and move on in life, I had to settle for a arranged marriage. Well it all started Three years back, when one my relatives approached my mom and from then till yesterday it was a roller coaster ride and I cherished the experience.
Sometime back I got a forward from one of my Friend which summarizes the whole experience and believe me guys I have been through all that is explained in the picture:

  • Mom/Dad and Relatives are saying its late.....soon you should get married and settle down.
  • No savings...whether she will get adjusted to my financial background.
  • Should I settle in Bangalore/Hyderabad/Chennai
  • Can't I marry her, we know each other quite well...? Whether she will say Yes/No?
  • I can never find someone like her
  • I loved her so much but now I have to settle with a stranger

Had the opportunity to know people and what they really think, especially girls. I will cherish the experience as I move forward in life.
A moment of thought to my Parents and bother who have stood with me on the decision's (good/bad) that I have taken so far. My close relatives provided a helping hand, well sometimes it was too hard to take it.

As I take my next step in life, I really hope it would be filled with surprises, joy and excitement.

Is India a Fragile democratic country?

That’s the question that I asked myself when I read about the North – Eastern state crisis, whether we are fragile democratic country.

Let’s have a look at the History of India, as per my understanding of the History. India came to existence because of the British Empire. If we look back beyond that, there are only two empires, which ruled our whole state, the Maurya Empire and the Mughals.

So leaving out the Maurya, the Mughals and the Birtish Empire, throughout the history we have been scattered. If we look deep into the History, we are 9500 years old, in this we were together for around 508yrs (137 yrs Maurya, 181 yrs by Mughals, 190 yrs by British). That’s pretty much very less compared to the History of our origin.

In this 508yrs of United India, the large parts of the North Eastern states (except Assam) were never been part of the Maurya or the Mughal empires.

When we attained Independence from the British Empire, it was left to the provinces either join India or Pakistan or given an option to be an Independent state.

As a Modern state, we are a 59 year old county, with 29 different states and 6 union territories. It will be real great challenge to address all concerns and there are bound to be differences. Well we have differences in each state itself.

Coming to the North–Eastern state crisis, I sincerely feel it’s due to negligence from the political parties and due to lack of development. Well how many people know all the states and their capital cities of North-East India.

They feel Isolated from the Rest of India and this has led to the frustration among the people and voices of Independence.

To the question, are we fragile? YES, we are fragile. If we look at the representation of the North-East India, it’s not properly represented in the Parliament of India and that’s where it’s getting ignored.

If India has to be strong and undivided, we have to make sure that everyone is represented equally and everyone gets the share of the development.

If India is going be divided on the basis of Caste, Religion or based on number of seats in the Parliament we will be fragile as a state.

Gandhi re-visited or Gandhigiri

There is a lot of buzz on the air on Gandhisim and his way of living. Thanks to the Bollywood film “Lage raho munna bhai”, this gave us a new word ‘Gandhigiri’. The word ‘Gandhigiri’ means following Gandhi’s principles and living as per his ideologies.

Gandhi’s Contribution to Independence of India

There’s a lot written and said about his contribution to the Independence of India. There are lots of critics who have argued saying that his contribution to the struggle is arguable than that of other leaders who have carried out there struggle.

The critics argue that he stole the limelight & the whole attention that he got is debatable. As there are other leaders like Balgangadhar thilak, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Chandrasekhar Azad, Lala Lajpat Rai, V. O. Chidambaram Pillai and some other great leaders.

His followers argue that he as a leader was able to bring the common people to the struggle of Independence, before that it was only the much higher educated people where taking part in the struggle.

There is a point here; Gandhi was more popular than other leaders because of the way he took on the Freedom struggle. He was able to gather support from the common people because of his way of leaving and the path he took, Non-Violence.

Because the way of he leaved was very simple, the common man was able to relate to him and took note of his speeches. That’s where he stole the limelight from other leaders and become one of the greatest leaders in the History.

What Gandhi did different from other leaders was; he leaved very simple life where common people can relate to him and saw him as the leader who can take them forward. He did lose much of his glory at the end of his life.

Nevertheless, he did what others where not able to; bring the masses together irrespective of their background.

Enjoy the Gandhigiri for know.

Sports Unlimited!

What a month of sports it has been action packed football (world cup fever), Tennis (Wimbledon), Cricket (India-West Indies tour) and F1.

There has been lot of ups and downs during the month.

Rahul Dravid : Has proved that he has the qualities to captain and lead Indian team, so many questions have been raised on his captaincy, he was often compared with Ganguly, not an aggressive captain as him. However, he proved all his critics wrong. He has played one of the best innings in the last test match. The other day was watching his interview after the post match session on historic win over West Indies, as always he complemented the team.

Anil Kumble: The fast bowler of spin. The last time we watched him at the Caribbean was when he came up to bowl on the last day even after breaking his Jaw to see through India win, unfortunately he was not able to deliver. This time around, he came back with a bang and delivered when we needed the most. However, the irony is still there’s debate whether he should be in the team or not, or should he be playing in One day games.

Zinedine zidane: Every one who has seen him play in the match against Brazil will wonder why he going to retire from the Football arena. His magic was amazing, he carries such a huge respect, Brazil some how bowed to this guy before starting of the match. Clearly they were so nervous then France in the match.

Schumacher : When we think that he is out, he comes up with a bang. We just cannot stop this guy from wining.

Andre aggasi: Atlast he called his last day in tennis. Aggasi was really superb in his early days. The amount of rivalry he and sampras had was great to watch in the court. KUDOS to the great player.

Breathtaking!!! Tennis
Roger federer, what a class of tennis he has displayed last night. He simply outplayed Tim Henman in all departments; Henman does not had any answers.

I really enjoyed the match; it was all textbook shorts, Breathtaking! He showed one of the best tennis yesterday. Amazed how he can keep playing like this and not to let the crowd get to him even though they were clearly cheering for Tim

Amazing, it’s been 43rd successive game win at grass.

However, I really wonder what happens to him at the French Open Clay courts. The other day was watching him playing against Radaf Nadal; he was below par in that game especially at Clay courts.

The number of Un-forced was so high in that match compared to the game yesterday. If am not wrong, it was 9 Un-forced errors yesterday to that of in the French open finals.

I think he is trying to do be more aggressive when it comes to playing in clay courts that result in Un-forced errors. Hope he wins the French Open one day and make history. It’s been absolute pleasure in watching him play. The man was so humble in victory, just could not stop admiring him.

He is out there along with Sampras, Becker, Stefan Edberg, Lendel & John. Edberg was truly calm and composed player, it was superb to watch rivalry between Edberg & Becker, Sampras & Aggasi. But Frederer doesn't have any rivalry in Grass, Nadal & Nalbandian are there but not so effective.

Maybe we are seeing one of the best tennis palyer of the deacade.

Cheers
Raj
